The Therapeutic Benefits of a Voice-Bath Relaxation Session
A large amount of information has been gathered by The British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST) over the last 6 years exploring the therapeutic benefits of sound-induced Altered States of Consciousness (ASC). Evidence has been gathered using Gongs, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls but to date there has been less research exploring the therapeutic benefits of a therapeutic voice-bath.
In this project, students of The British Academy of Sound Therapy currently undergoing the Professional Diploma in Group Voice Therapy and Holistic Voice Therapy courses will be conducting voice-bath sessions comprising toning, overtoning and therapeutic percussion. Participants will be asked to complete the Sound Induced ASC (SIASC) form and the data will be gathered and analysed by BAST. The results will be presented online on the 30th April.
