The Therapeutic Benefits of a Voice-Bath Relaxation Session
A large amount of information has been gathered by The British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST) over the last 6 years exploring the therapeutic benefits of sound-induced Altered States of Consciousness (ASC). Evidence has been gathered using Gongs, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls but to date there has been less research exploring the therapeutic benefits of a therapeutic voice-bath.
In this project, students of The British Academy of Sound Therapy currently undergoing the Professional Diploma in Group Voice Therapy and Holistic Voice Therapy courses will be conducting voice-bath sessions comprising toning, overtoning and therapeutic percussion. Participants will be asked to complete the Sound Induced ASC (SIASC) form and the data will be gathered and analysed by BAST.
